Prayer Quilts—The quilts placed on the quilt racks are for Betty McLead, Cecil Childers, Emma Jean Childers,
Judy Stock, Peggy Brockenbrough, Bobby Brown, and Tip Silvers. Quilts on the left were placed on the racks
last week. The quilts to the right are on the racks for the first time. Please say a prayer and tie a knot for
these individuals.
New Covenant would like to welcome the Smith family this morning. Billy and Lydia are missionaries in India.
Billy will be bringing our message today during both worship services. Everyone is asked to remain in the
sanctuary during Sunday School. Billy and Lydia will share about their mission work and answer questions.
We will receive a love offering for the Smith family on February 19th.
2012-2013 Preschool Registration begins February 13th! We have classes for 1s, 2s, 3s & 4s. Registration
packets are available in the narthex. Please email us at preschool@newcovenantumc.org or call the church
office for more information.
Staff-Parish Committee—The Staff-Parish Committee will meet on Monday, February 13th, at 7:00 p.m.
Kids for Christ (KFC) will not meet Wednesday, February 15th, but will resume meeting on Wednesdays from
6:15-6:45 p.m. to practice for another Call to Worship music presentation on Sunday, March 25. Thank you,

Young at Heart Luncheon—The Young at Heart will be having a Valentine’s Luncheon on Wednesday,
February 15th, at 11:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center. Please join us for good food and great fellowship!
T4C Youth Choir and DOC Women’s Choir will rehearse today! Bring a friend!
Youth—Youth will meet this evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Youth Wednesday Night “The Way” will meet from
4:00 to 7:00 p.m. for homework, food and discussion. Winter Retreat: Our retreat will be February 24th to
February 26th. We hope to go skiing, but if the weather does not permit, we will have a weekend in the
mountains with fellowship and fun. If you are a youth and are planning on going, please see, text/call or email
Todd to get signed up. Cost will be less than $100 for room and food, but does not include the price of skiing.
Donations Needed—Donations of drinks, chips, cookies and snacks are needed for the Youth. The Youth are
meeting on Wednesday and Sunday nights. Please place these donations in the kitchen with a note that they
are for the Youth.
Sports Ministry—New Covenant needs a volunteer to coordinate our Sports Ministry. This person would be
responsible for scheduling the use of the baseball field, etc. If you are interested, please see Johnny Stewart
for details.
Administrative Council—The Administrative Council will meet on Sunday, February 19th, at 7:00 p.m.
Please join us for our Ash Wednesday Service on February 22nd at 7:00 p.m.
Finance Committee—The Finance Committee will meet on Thursday, February 23rd, at 6:30 p.m.
Sportsman Banquet—The sportsmen of New Covenant will be sponsoring a Sportsman Banquet on
March 10th in the Family Life Center. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m.
Tickets are $10 which will include a spaghetti supper, door prizes and Chris Wells will be our special guest.
Proceeds will benefit the New Covenant Building Fund and Youth projects. Tickets are available now and can
also be purchased at the door on the evening of the banquet. Questions or details, see John Carpenter.
Cookbooks Available—Do you need a great gift for a bridal shower, wedding gift or Mother’s Day? Our UMW
has plenty of cookbooks to sell at $15 each. These make excellent gifts. See Carol Thomas, Martha Coltharp,
Gail Foster or come by the church office to get your cookbooks. If you need a small supply to sell at your
work, sporting games or family reunions, please see Carol Thomas. Proceeds will go to the UMW. Thank you
for your continued support of the UMW.
Room in the Inn still needs volunteers for next week. Make plans to be part of this blessing and sign up today

Help Needed—We need help in the Toddler Sunday School Class. If you are interested, please call Missy

Mission Trip to Costa Rica—Pastor Randy Wall is helping to organize a mission work team to Canas, Costa
Rica for July 18-28. He will be co-leading the team with his daughter, Melissa Murr. (Melissa has been on
several mission trips before including three teams to Costa Rica. As a high school Spanish teacher, she is
fluent in Spanish.) We will help build a church there for a congregation currently in a rented facility. Cost of
the trip is $1300 and includes airfare, lodging, and most meals. Space is limited and can fill quickly.
Interested? An orientation session for team members will be held in the Spring. Contact Pastor Randy for
more information.
Attention Women—A new women’s bible study group will be meeting on the third Wednesday of the month at
7:00 p.m., in the parlor. We will be starting the new year by studying the Book of Ruth (study guides are
$6.00). All are welcome. If you have questions, contact Amy Overbay.
Attention Men—The men’s study group will meet each Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. They will be studying the book,
Paul, Living for the Call of Christ by Gene A. Getz. Cost for the book will be $15. Questions? Contact Randy
Wall or Bryan Abernathy.
The Children’s Council needs your help! We are looking for individuals who are willing to lead Children’s
Church in the second service once a month. If you are interested in this important ministry opportunity, please
contact Amy Overbay or Crystal Abernathy.
Visitation—New Covenant is starting a new visitation effort to reach out to family, friends, and acquaintances
who need support and encouragement. Anyone interested in this outreach is invited to our standing
meetings, which will be at 7pm on the first Monday of the month. If you have someone in your life who
could use a visit from members of the church family, please contact Sam Price, Jason Miller, or Amy Overbay.
