Youth Christmas Party—The Youth Christmas Party will be held this evening, December 11th, from 5:00 to
8:00 p.m. Parents/guardians are invited to attend. Youth are asked to bring a $5 non gender gift. Come for
food, games and prizes. The Youth will be selling luminaries for the Christmas Eve service for $1.00 each.
Sign up sheets will be available at both services for “In memory/honor of” someone special to you. Look for
Youth before and after services.
UMW Christmas Party—The UMW Christmas party will be on Tuesday, December 13th, at 6:30 p.m., at Sports
Page at Coulwood. All ladies of the church are invited. 2011 Heart Sisters will be revealed. Please bring your
Heart Sister's gift to the party. If you were not in the Heart Sister program, please bring a wrapped gift to
exchange (around $15.00). If you plan on attending, please register on the sign up sheet in the narthex. (The
original date has been changed so if you previously signed up for the party, please sign up again.)
Hope Is Born–Emmanuel!—Emmanuel – God with us! What an amazing concept that the God who created
Heaven, Earth, time, you and me would assume human form and limit himself to what we can understand so
we can know how much He loves us!! Just knowing that God loves us gives us the hope we need to proceed
in this life. The choir invites you to join us as we celebrate the God of Hope. The cantata will be presented
on December 18th at the 9:00 worship service and again at 4:00 pm. Both performances will be in the
sanctuary and refreshments will be available after the 4:00 presentation. We hope you will be a part of this
musical gift from the choir. As the composer, Randy Vader, penned:
“Hope is not lost!
Hope is not out of reach!
Hope is not gone!
HOPE IS BORN!
EMMANUEL”
Caroling Party—There will be a Christmas Caroling Party on Wednesday, December 21st. Meet at the church
at 6:30 p.m. We will carpool to places to sing and finish the night off with hot cocoa and refreshments at
Peggy Beatty’s house. Questions, call Amy Pacitto at (704) 607-8264.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service will be held at 5:00 p.m.
On Christmas Day, we will have one worship service only at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Sunday
School has been cancelled for December 25th.
