New Covenant is currently
involved in a capital
campaign to raise funds
for our new building. The
goals of the campaign are
to (1) raise as much money
as possible before starting
goals of the campaign are
as possible before starting
to build and (2) plan to
ensure that we have the
committed contributions
required to pay off any debt
in a reasonable amount
of time. We hope to begin
construction in June
followed by a 42 month
commitment period.  At the
end of the 42 months we
hope to have the church
debt fee.

A Note from the
Church Treasurer
It is a blessing to be
receiving all the donations
to the Building Fund. Please
remember to write a
separate check for your
building fund donations.
This is a separate account
and cannot be included with
your regular offering.
Thank you!
Capital Campaign Highlights
The New Covenant United Methodist Church Building Campaign Dinner was held at 6:30 pm on
Wednesday, May 7th. Over 170 people were fed a fried chicken dinner, green beans and corn, roll,
tea and cake. The youth of New Covenant served as waiters and waitresses. Child care was
    provided.

Members of the campaign committee spoke and prayed to all in attendance about the importance of
the campaign, financial commitments and the need to reach our greater community for Jesus Christ.

It was reported that 24 families had committed to giving over $223,000 at the start of the dinner.
This is in addition to cash on hand in the Building Fund of just under $300,000. There is $150,000
coming from the Duke Endowment. And there remain 107 families in our church yet to pledge by
Commitment Sunday, May 11th. The Lord is working at New Covenant!!

Final architectural drawings will be submitted to the Building Committee on Monday, May 12th and
bids for construction should be back in on or about June 15th. If all goes according to plan, we
should be under construction by June 30, 2008.

This is an exciting time to be a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church. We are in a
position to make a difference in the lives of many people, young and old alike. It is our mission as
Christians to seek out the lost and bring them to a place of safety in the knowledge and love of
Jesus Christ. What better place to do that than at New Covenant!
